MultiMedia Makeover

Help me give my students a better multimedia experience by equipping them with updated equipment. The Blue Yeti microphone alone would be a huge improvement to our student broadcast.

My Students

The Multimedia class works hard to produce a student-produced news broadcast. They focus on teamwork while learning the planning, production, and publishing skills necessary to create a multimedia project. I love the enthusiasm, creativity, and energy that this group has. They are a group with several different personalities and have grown so much since the first class. They are working together and stretching out of their comfort zones. It has been a challenging year with distance-learning interrupting many of our in-class sessions. We have had to be creative and learn how to problem-solve quickly. They have risen to the challenge and I am very proud of them.

My Project

The equipment for our school's Multimedia class is in need of an upgrade. I want to be able to equip the students with the tools that can help them succeed. The ability to produce quality content relies on the skills they learn and also in the effectiveness of the equipment used to produce the content. We are currently using an old iPhone to film as it produces a better quality image than the camcorders we have. We hope to upgrade to a DSLR at some point.

These tools will allow the students to use what they learn in Multimedia to create quality episodes for the student news program.

These resources will be an encouragement to their multimedia learning process. The items listed were selected to bolster the technology we are currently using.
