Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a Title I school on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. My art stars are creative, fun, and curious little artists. They love to draw, paint, color, and sculpt. The art room is their place to shine, be themselves, express their creativity, and show the world who they are.
My Project
Help my students get the supplies they need for their multicultural and printmaking projects! Having crayons and papers that match their skin tone will help my students connect to their projects. They'll love being able to represent themselves accurately with appropriately colored crayons and construction paper. The printmaking supplies will give them access to materials that haven't had the opportunity to work with yet due to budget constraints. I know they will greatly appreciate the new experience! Additional supplies will help me keep track of all their projects this year and give students a chance to make their own portfolios to take all their work home safely.
