My Project
I fell in love with reading when my aunt would open up the Sunday comics and read to me. I want the students in my school to fall in love with reading, just as I did, by reading a good book.
Our school is comprised of students who are both African American and Hispanic. I want to increase their literacy skills by introducing them to stories about them. We have multicultural read alouds but our library is in need of updating. Many of our readers search for stories to share with our students.
