Your generous contribution of translator pens and the Spanish on-demand printer made a tremendous difference in our classroom. These tools allowed students to access lessons independently, translate materials in real time, and participate more fully in class activities. Students gained confidence, improved their language skills, and were able to engage more deeply with the curriculum. The flexible seating options allow students to choose the workspace that helps them focus best — whether that's collaborating in small groups, working independently, or spreading out during hands-on activities. The organizational tools and supplies have also helped create a calm, student-centered space where learning feels more personal and productive.\r\nOne project where the impact was clear was during our real-world math stations, where students rotated through tasks like budgeting, graphing, and measurement challenges. The freedom to choose how and where to work boosted their engagement and confidence — one student said, \"It feels like we're doing math that actually matters.\" Another added, \"I get more done when I can sit where I feel comfortable.\"\r\nThis year, we're building on that momentum with a unit on geometry and spatial reasoning. Students will soon be working on a design project where they create and analyze 3D models using volume and surface area calculations. The environment you helped create continues to support these creative, challenging lessons.\r\nYour generosity didn't just impact one group of students — it's making a difference year after year. Thank you for helping create a space where students feel empowered, capable, and excited to learn math.","fullyFundedDate":1724503091741,"projectUrl":"project/a-space-thats-dedicated-to-enabling-cho/8688238/","projectTitle":"A Space That's Dedicated to Enabling Choice","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kinard M.Ed","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9696807_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726187639062","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9696807"},{"teacherId":1021039,"projectId":8774881,"letterContent":"The look of surprise and excitement in my students' eyes when they saw \"Pele, King of Soccer\" was priceless. Every boy in the class ran straight to it when they saw it! Each day at the beginning of class students choose a book to read. It is nice to watch them browse the selections, run their fingers over the titles and then watch how carefully and thoughtfully a choice is made. \r\n\r\nAn exercise that is practiced at times intentionally with teacher direction and other times through student discovery is making connections with words in their native language to words in English. They get very excited when they identify cognates or recognize previously taught words in English. We have compared word meanings and word and letter sounds that have helped to build phonemic awareness and develop their vocabulary. These are some great stories that have made for great discussion about words. \r\n\r\nThis classroom has been naked of culturally relevant literature and with your giving, my room not only looks inviting but my students feel invited. They feel a strong sense of belonging in this room, it's their place. I am convinced that your contribution of mentoring text encourages them to read and also makes them feel that they belong.","fullyFundedDate":1736647905879,"projectUrl":"project/growing-our-reading-from-spanish-to-eng/8774881/","projectTitle":"Growing our reading, from Spanish to English.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Martin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1021039"},{"teacherId":8824155,"projectId":8508459,"letterContent":"We are most grateful for the opportunity to purchase materials needs for our learning environment.
