Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My request for these books allows students to engage in literacy that represents them. Diverse students come into my room every day, and showcasing books with characters representing my student's cultures and backgrounds can engage them in participating in literacy. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have watched them read titles just like these the past few weeks of school, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students can choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. Each book illustrates a student's life that will capture their hearts and support their literacy development.
