My Project
Hi! I am our school's counselor. I facilitate Social/Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons with all classes K-5 at KES. Skills related to self/social awareness and self/social management are at the heart of all SEL. I have developed tools and techniques to practice these concepts in a powerful, hands-on way. This project is designed to purchase wooden figures and vehicles to support and continue this learning.
The wooden figures and vehicles we are requesting will serve as valuable tools in promoting emotional literacy, empathy, and self-regulation.
By interacting with these figures, which students may choose to design themselves, children will begin to/strengthen their understanding of the relationship between themselves, their emotions, their words and actions - noticing and developing self-awareness, which is necessary to improve their self-management skills.
In addition to the figures, we are also requesting hanging storage organizers to display the figures. These storage organizers will ensure that the figures are neatly stored and easily accessible for students when needed, allowing for greater use and interaction.
