Every day, our nursing office becomes a place where students come for many different reasons. Some need care for an injury, a bandage for a scraped knee, or a quiet place to rest when they are not feeling well. Others may simply need a snack because they came to school hungry. For some children, the health office is also a place where they can find comfort, reassurance, and a caring adult who will listen.\r\n\r\nYour donation of snacks, books, and bandages has helped us meet these needs in ways that go far beyond the supplies themselves. The snacks allow us to provide a little nourishment to students who may be hungry and having difficulty concentrating in class. The bandages and basic first-aid supplies allow us to respond quickly to the everyday bumps, scrapes, and minor injuries that naturally happen during a busy school day.\r\n\r\nFor our youngest students, especially, these simple resources can make a big difference. Students watch videos to learn the basic skills and then sit side by side, coaching one another. Many crocheted bracelets have been made so far, but one student has a chain as long as a jumprope too.
