This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have been fulfilling my lifelong ambition of teaching and inspiring children for over 12 years. My passion is to help my students reach their potential and, in doing so, discover the joy of learning.
I have the opportunity to teach 30 unique students at a public school.
My school is a K-8, Title I school, where all of the students receive free breakfast and lunch and come from low-income families. My school encourages a diverse approach to learning that inspires each student to learn, achieve, and remain committed to high standards in all content areas.
My Project
It is important for students to realize that everyone comes from diverse backgrounds. I want my students to learn to be accepting and respectful of all people.
This project includes supplies that are necessary for my students to complete craft projects that will help reinforce multiculturalism.
Right now we do have paper, markers, crayons, and colored pencils, however, we do not have the packs that include the multicultural colors.
I think completing the art projects that I have in mind that emphasize the uniqueness of all students, despite their skin color and background, will surely help to promote acceptance in my classroom.
