Help me give my students the chance to enjoy reading multicultural books. As a teacher in an inner city school district, many of my students come from various cultural backgrounds.

I am a Second Grade Inclusion Special Education Teacher.
I have 24 students, where half of my students are general education children and the other half of my class are students who receive special education services by me.
Many of my studnets come from various cultural ethnicity, such as Cape Verdian, Haitian, Hispanic, etc. My students' disabilities range from specific learning disabilities, developmentally delay, and ADHD. The typical student in my class struggles not only with academics, such as reading and math, but also with social skills. My students require a structured environment, teacher modeling, as well as understanding, and compassion from the staff to bring out the very best in each one of these children. These amazing children have the potential to grow, both academically and socially, when given the proper materials and strategies needed to help them succeed.
My students come from families various cultural backgrounds, who live in a low-income urban setting. Many of them have experienced trauma in their young lives, that have already impacted their emotional growth, as well as their ability to succeed academically.
My students deserve a multicultural books in our classroom library to teach them about the beauty of different cultures.
The multicultural books I am requesting for my students will help enrich the classroom library that student use to read during Readers' Workshop.
Our classroom library is filled with many books, but needs a new make over by adding some more multicultural books into the mix.
These multicultural books will provide a better sections of books for my students to read.
As a teacher of an inner city school district, many of my students come from different cultural backgrounds. I enjoy learning about my students cultural background.
