Help me give my students high-interest multicultural biographies and diverse books about inclusion. Students will read about the unsung black heroes of the wild west and present-day females who have broken the glass ceiling.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a group of wonderfully bright and optimistic kiddos who come from struggling low-income households. Many of my students are learning English as a second language. All of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
Students are eager to learn and grow.
They inspire me to give my best each day because they depend on me, and our future depends on them.
My students are happy children who love to learn!
My Project
The books you will be contributing towards purchasing will be used on a regular basis to expose and teach students about diversity, and our world's everyday heroes; like the members of the underground railroad and women who have shattered the glass ceiling.
Students will learn about history through high-interest books, that teach about the lives of diverse heroes who changed our world for the better.
Along with reading these books, students will also participate in classroom discussions, watch short films about the person we are reading about, and compose a reflective writing piece to orally present to the class.
