My Students

Engaging. Progressive. Rigorous. Creative. These are just a few words that describe the elementary school in which I teach. Our students come to school with a thirst to be a learner and leader! These little scholars are hard-working, motivated, and eager!

It is my job as their teacher to fill their educational needs with exciting and interactive lessons that keep them wanting more from their school experience!

I am one of their first encounters with school and I value the opportunity to make it worth their while!

My Project

These materials will help support my goal to teach my students how to read and write fluently. Through multi-sensory approaches, students will learn how to correctly spell words much sooner than the use of paper and pencil.

Paired with effective instruction, multi-sensory approaches to learning to write will help students retain more effectively.

With the sequin boards, the students will be able to practice spelling sight words with direct instruction from the teacher. The trays will be filled with sand and beads to help the students feel a different sensation when writing words to help instill the correct spelling of the word. Finally, the standing easel will be used during instruction time to ensure that the students in the group can see the correct formation and spelling as they work.
