I need to raise the funds to attend the second part of my Orton Gillingham training, that specifically focuses on intermediate students.

My Students

My students are remarkable and diverse! They are full of energy, embrace technology, and love to interact and collaborate. They represent a wide variety of ethnicities, family structures, socio-economic backgrounds, and ability levels.

My students are part of Generation Z, which means they take in information quickly and learn differently than students in the past.

In addition, my students have learning disabilities, and it is challenging for them to keep pace with the fast pace of today's society. However, this doesn't slow down their zest for learning!

My Project

This past summer, I was afforded the opportunity to attend a 30 hour Orton Gillingham training, which is a multi-sensory approach to teaching reading. I have successfully implemented this program with my students this year, and I am amazed to see the growth that they have shown using this method of teaching.

I am fully invested in this method of teaching, and really want to continue my training to include strategies that are geared more towards my older students in the special education program.

I would love to attend the second part of the Orton Gillingham training, the Intermediate Course, which would expand my knowledge and help even more of my students succeed.
