This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology is changing the world as we speak. My kindergarten students are very lucky to have access to a lot of it thanks to our DonorsChoose supporters. They have gifted us iPads, iPods, laptops, interactive soft wear, and other media supplies. My students' future has never looked brighter!

My students approach life with the enthusiasm and curiosity that all five-year-old children seem to have in abundance.

Despite living in a low socioeconomic area where their parents struggle to make ends meet, they are incredibly hopeful and looking forward to the future. Their parents want the best education possible for them but due to financial constraints, many cannot afford to have books and technology such as computers or iPads at home. It is up to me and the school to provide these wonderful kids with a wide variety of learning tools. We are a Title I school, which means that we do get funds to improve the academic achievement of the disadvantage, but not enough to provide every classroom with a well stocked classroom library, computers and iPads and other media tools.

My Project

I am requesting a multi media cart that will allow my students to actively use the technology equipment in our classroom on a daily basis. My students will be able to view anything projected from the document reader or the laptop. They will have access to endless resources such as educational videos, recordings, artwork, power point presentations, interactive math and literacy games and so on. My students will also be able to share their work when doing presentations. This cart will also organize and protect our technology, ensuring that class time is not wasted and that our equipment can continue to be utilized by future students in the years to come. I am also requesting a chair for the students to use when they are using the media tools such as the document reader when sharing their work.

We have been fortunate with donations of laptops, iPads and various other media equipment.

This cart will help us create the space that can help build a positive learning environment. This cart will also allow me to have everything I need to incorporate technology into my lessons. It also allows me to lock up my laptop and other media equipment so that I know it is safe when I am out of the classroom and so that I don't have to carry it home with me at the end of the day.
