Help me give my students the opportunity to read books written from the perspective of multi cultural authors on topics that are relevant and important to 10 and 11 year old boys and girls.
These books will enhance the love of reading that I strive to instill in my 5th grade students. We do a daily read aloud where we read a chapter a day from a novel. I further encourage their learning by having my students answer questions and complete fun projects based on the novel.
Being 10 and 11 years old is an age where children can develop a life long love of reading, and having books in my classroom that create interest and curiosity will further this love!
My students love to read books with characters that they can relate to, with problems and situations that are similar to their own lives.
My love of reading and learning is something that I show my students every day, and with the right novels in my classroom, I can turn my passion into their life long love!
