This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 5th grade class is full of amazing brilliant students. They are all special , creative, funny, smart, and caring, those are just a few words to describe my students. They love learning and sharing their experiences with their friends. My students need and benefit from sensory breaks throughout the day. They enjoy drawing, Play-Doh, Legos, and board games. My goal this year is to provide them with the tools and strategies they need to meet their academic and social goals.
My Project
My students benefit from sensory supports. Some students use calming strategies when they become overstimulated or overwhelmed, including repetitive movement (rocking/pacing), deep breathing, reading, drawing, or playing with putty. When overly stimulated my students need a sensory break. The fidget toys, flexible seats, and stress balls requested will help me provide them with additional support in the classroom.
