Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a low income/high poverty school district where 100% of the students in the school receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite coming from a disadvantaged neighborhood, the students come to school very happy and very eager to learn every day.
The students that I have in my classroom that I service have Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities.
They all vary with different strengths and abilities, and they need support to help to communicate and function socially with others.
My Project
In our special education department, we have one printer that has to be shared among 4 other special education teachers.
Having a color printer stationary in my room will allow me to be able to print out the students work to be shown off.
I will also be able to print out vocabulary pictures that will go with the students' stories that we are reading in their current story unit. Having a printer in the room will also prove beneficial by being able to print off the student’s IEPs for meetings. The ink cartridges will be used as we run out of ink pretty often due to us needing to use the printer every day.
