In order to create the magic of students' words into mystical illustrations, they must have the necessary tools in order to bring this form of art to life. One of the most fascinating things about poetry illustrations is being able to show their creativity on paper
The students in my class come from lower income working-class proud families.
When materials were requested at the the beginning of the school year, none of these supplies were sent in by the parents. These students are very creative in using leftovers from other materials. They are very thrifty and I am very proud of how they have to make do with the little we have in the classroom.
My Project
The electric sharpeners are being requested to help students sharpen their pencils in order to enhance their illustrations. The markers and pens are being requested so that students can create wonderful pieces of poetry illustrations. If the students receive these materials, the sky will be the limit with the different art forms that can be created. The printing white paper will help them bring out the deeper colors of the art work. Over the course of this unit students will express themselves by making different types of poetry illustrations.
This project is very important because everyone can be an artist.
Children express their deepest thoughts by creating meaningful forms of drawings, to share their feelings. The transformation the students have when the see their drawings, will be outstanding.
