This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are looking forward to learning about electronics and electrical schematics as they design and construct their LED Diode pillow project. Unfortunately, we forgot to include much-needed art supplies (sequins, embroidered iron patches, glue, and poly-fil) for this project. My students have limited resources outside of the classroom. The demographics of my student population are underserved minority low social-economic.

My students are eager to learn about engineering and how they can use the engineering design process to solve everyday problems.

This is why I am utilizing the design challenge to know only learn in-depth engineering academic vocabulary but I am also connecting it to social-emotional wellness. I want to elevate this project and allow them to create a pillow that has personal meaning for everyday life challenges. Please help me offer my students creative art supplies to elevate their project into a memorable artifact from middle school.
