Mr. Francella from Baltimore MD is requesting a class trip through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need scholarships to offset the cost of the total price of the tour. This includes airfare, tour transportation, hotels, daily meals, our tour director, and learning experiences.

I teach a wonderfully bright group of middle school students. Every day, they inspire me with their curiosity, commitment to learning, and critical thinking skills. I loop with my students, so I have taught my eighth graders since they started sixth grade. I have watched my classes grow in remarkable ways. They are advanced learners, but still, lack access to the educational experiences and resources that could make my course great.
My school is a great school that is working to provide new experiential learning for all of our students.
We are making strides, but still have a long way to go. As a teacher working to promote our mission and vision to developing balanced, independent, creative, critical thinkers, my priority is to ensure that every student has access to the best education possible.
This is what I believe: A textbook can only go so far. The best way to help students gain new understanding and grow in meaningful ways is through experiential learning. I choose to take my students abroad because global education programs like EF Tours blend classroom, digital, experiential learning for students. I saw this in action last year and I know that international travel works.
Traveling to Costa Rica will bring content alive for my students and help them grow as global citizens.
Students will complete projects through weShare, a personalized digital learning experience powered by your student curiosity. Students use their strengths to investigate an issue or topic that inspires them. They reflect on what they've learned through a post-tour project that gives even more meaning to travel—and can earn academic credit.
In Costa Rica, my students will discover an incredible balance of adventure, service learning and ecology. This will be an adventure and will reaffirm the reality that experiential learning is the best form of learning.
