This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My science students absorb information like a sponge and can use the information given to them to do amazing things. They work hard and ask questions when they don't understand something.
My students are are driven to be the best students on campus!
They can build amazing simulations and and inventions that they use to inquire about difficult science concepts.
My Project
Since the beginning of the pandemic my students have been craving interaction with their peers. I have noticed that since they have come back they are all on edge and are withdrawn the world around them. I aim to have my students feel welcome and build not just relationships with my students, but a community as well. This supports speaking and listening standards. These standards focus on collegiate discussion with their peers and tracking personal progress in school. Though I am a science teacher, these standards are important because it is my job to ensure academic achievement not just in my class but in their other academic endeavors.
Materials listed are there to build confidence in students by offering rewards for achievement.
My students struggle to participate, I believe offering an inventive can inspire them to put forth more effort and see reward in trying.
The printer will be a great tool for us to utilize in my class since a printer is not always readily available in my school. This will help me build more interactive lessons quicker and more consistently. The flexible seating will offer a change in scenery for my students versus their traditional science benches. As well as chair covers for old chairs that are used and loved.
My students are my world and deserve a break from the craziness they have been through. I hope I can offer them some sense of normalcy again.
