My Students

I am a first-year teacher to the most amazing group of students! They are hardworking, kind, and always put 100% effort into everything they do. They have made becoming a teacher during COVID so much easier with their sweethearts and positive attitudes.

I want to give back to my students by making my classroom truly feel like a second home.

Providing them with resources that will make them feel more confident as learners and comfortable spending their days in our classroom. They deserve the best and this is me wanting to give back to my students.

My Project

On my list, there is flexible seating. Flexible seating helps keep students engaged and focused. Especially during Covid, students are not allowed to do as much group work and work with their peers, so giving students the option to move around at their desks with flexible seating is very important to keep them engaged and happy in the classroom.

"Flexible seating allows students to wobble, rock, bounce, lean, or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow, and core strength.

In turn, this burns more calories and increases metabolism. It also helps keep young minds more alert and focused."

"Flexible seating gives students the option to control their physical environments in which they work best. In other words, with choices, students gain greater flexibility and control of their surroundings giving them the autonomy and comfort to stay engaged and focused. This leads to increased student engagement which is linked to higher motivation and academic performance, as well as improved overall behavior."

Flexible/alternative seating will be used for many years to come.
