Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our classroom, whether in person or on-line, is full of brilliant thinkers. We are kind to one another, we work hard every day, and we never stop asking questions. Most students in our classroom are bilingual, and many have only been fluent English speakers for a few years.
We have so much to offer the world, and we exuberantly contribute our ideas!
We are readers and writers, gardeners, athletes, Pokemon trainers, historians, mathematicians, thespians, free thinkers, recyclers, musicians, caregivers, and dance machines. We know that school feels the best when we work hard and laugh easy. Life is good in second grade!
My Project
It's no secret that every child deserves access to rich, thoughtful texts that help them feel seen, respected, and curious about their world. I try to keep our class library as well-stocked and connected to my students' lives as possible, but it is an expensive task!
Please help me put excellent, culturally relevant books in my students' hands.
Not only can we encourage my (brilliant, goofy, hardworking) students as they grow as readers, but we can also support some amazing writers and illustrators who are changing the world with their work. Students will have access to these books all summer long.
