This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I believe all students deserve to have all the supplies they need to make learning fun and effective. My precious students have expressed that their student station is lacking in supplies. I have found that students are frequently asking to use my stapler, tape, and post-it notes; they are also always needing more pencils and cap erasers as the semester progresses. I am hoping that getting these supplies will help replenish the student station with everything my students regularly need. We use glue sticks every single class period to add things to the students' interactive notebooks. Every student has their own personal whiteboard at their desk, but using them is difficult due to the lack of markers and erasers. Students will use the dry-erase markers and erasers to interact with the lesson and each other on their own personal whiteboards.

Our classroom is not very spacious, so organization is key to keeping the space functional for students.

I have the honor of serving 130 students, but with so many students in a small room, organization is imperative. Students will be able to use the storage bins to store their supplies and access them easily in the classroom. Binder clips will be used to help keep papers organized for students to access missing work, additional resources, and to keep their work together. Many topics in our class are referenced all throughout the year. The chart paper and packing tape will be used to hang anchor charts throughout the room to help reinforce the learning. The colored paper will be used in making note catchers and post-it notes will be used as exit slips, for marking pages in textbooks, and for adding notes to their notebooks.
