Help me give my students Multicultural and Diversity books to have in their own classroom. Having books about each child helps learning about self that more special.
My classroom consists of eager children ready to learn and create. We are in an area of poverty but we all come to school excited to learn. My students are very hard workers and have progressed so much already in such a short time! Having a safe and healthy environment would make learning easier and more productive.
My Project
Having Multicultural books to read in our classroom will benefit each and every child by exposing not only their own culture but that of others as well. Our class will collectively celebrate cultures and learn to appreciate all. Reading as a whole class sparks answering and asking questions. Learning to remain quiet and listen to others is also an important social skill to learn. Reading to children helps the understanding of print concept, knowledge of content and details. We get so excited when a new book is introduced and we can predict what it is about as well as get excited!
