My Project

Hi my name is Khalea Turner and this is my first year teaching. I am excited to start my new journey and would love your support!

In our 4th grade classroom, I want every student to feel safe, inspired, and ready to grow.

This project helps me create a warm, organized, and creative space that supports hands-on learning, thoughtful reflection, and joyful reading. Reading is the foundation of learning.

The reading corner rug will create a cozy space for students to read, reset, and engage in quiet activities. The book displays and class sets of Roald Dahl and “Who Was” biographies will help build a diverse mini-library where students can explore history, imagination, and big ideas at their own pace.

The colored pencils and markers will support both creativity and map visuals—whether we’re working on geography projects, designing review posters, or coloring to calm our minds. The lap whiteboards will give students a hands-on way to show their thinking in math, collaborate during games, and engage during whole-group lessons.

To keep the classroom running smoothly, I’ve also included a 2-tier utility cart to organize materials, and a giant inflatable globe to connect our math and reading lessons to the wider world.
