Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

At 7:15 each morning the bell rings and I am greeted with smiling faces, little giggles and the best hugs! My students are full of energy and so excited to learn each day. I have never seen students interact like they do, they are truly kind and are always looking out for one another.

I am a first year teacher in a Title I school in North Carolina where all students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Although many students face hardships outside of school they are so driven, hardworking, curious and eager to learn! These students can do anything they put their mind to and are reminded of it every day! I am so blessed to be their teacher!

My Project

Multiple times a day my students have the opportunity to use different forms of technology (computers, iPads and tablets) to access educational apps and programs and listen to stories. Using technology is by far one of their favorite parts of the day! Lately, there has been one small problem...students complain because they can't hear what the device is telling them or that it is too loud and they can't concentrate.

My kiddos need your help, in order to create an environment where students can quietly learn and focus using the technology they love we need a class set of headphones!

Having a class set of headphones will not only increase the learning of the students that are using headphones but also all the students around them!
