This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These snacks will help to supply the Ms. Schmidt Snack Store. I teach an Instructional Math Class (Special Education) at the 9th grade level. The students in this class range from students with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Behavior Disabilities, and Specific Learning Disabilities. In class, my students have the ability to earn "Schmidt Bucks". They earn money by completing their class jobs, participating, helping each other, and being prepared for class.

The students have been "counting their cash" all year long!

They are so excited for the Schmidt store, which will happen at the end of each quarter. These snacks will help to enrich student learning because they will be able to use their money to budget, calculate tax, and calculate discounts at the Schmidt Store, which is a crucial life skill for them to have.

My students this year are awesome and have been working so hard in class to earn as much money as possible for the "Schmidt Snack Store"!
