Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
School starts at the end of August, but I am preparing for my students now because I know that they deserve a high-quality, well-rounded education. In order for that to happen, I as the teacher need to start off with my best foot forward! My classroom this year is going to be a classroom of explorers on an academic safari, ready to tackle all of the challenges that learning presents!
Tulsa's students are brilliant, inquisitive, and enthusiastic about learning!
Although I don't yet know my particular class, I know that we will work together to be learners who are eager to expand our horizons, motivated to do our best, and ready to be kind to and caring to all of our classmates and to our larger school community. One of our big goals for the year will be to tackle the big state tests to the best of our abilities.
A note about the photo: Since I have not yet met my students, I am unable to post a photo of them or their work. This is my classroom for the fall, and I am so excited to transform it into a beautiful learning community!
My Project
Welcome to Team Molloy College! My class of safari explorers needs your help to get our team started on the right foot for the school year! We are going to be exploring concepts on a Safari of Learning that will take us from multiplication to the Vikings to ecology and so much more!
My class themes for the year are "teamwork" and "growth mindset." I want my scholars to know every day that they are capable of anything that they put their mind to, and that great things happen when we work collaboratively towards common goals!
I am extremely passionate about literature as a means of personal transformation, and therefore the bulk of the items I am requesting are books to stock a social justice oriented library in my classroom so that I can inspire the next generation of leaders.
I am requesting notebooks that will be used on a daily basis for engaging "Do Now" work, including writing prompts, worksheets, and other creative endeavors, and I am requesting some basic school supplies to make sure that our classroom runs efficiently during the start of the school year, setting us up for success for the rest of the year.
