My Project
Speech-language pathology is an amazing career, and I am thrilled by the progress I've made with my PK-5th-grade students. Currently, I have about 50 students with a wide variety of needs. Some are receiving speech therapy for articulation (speech sounds) only, and others are on my caseload in addition to receiving occupational therapy, physical therapy, and resource services. They are always excited when I bring in new materials, but I'm often purchasing them myself.
I recently bought my printer to make sure my speech-language therapy students can access engaging materials.
With an increase in students who rely on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), I have been printing core boards and other visual supports in color for teachers and students. Preschool and Kindergarten are the main grades receiving these materials, but I'm also hoping to use the other materials on this list for my students in all grades!
The articulation flashcards I've included in my wishlist would be a great addition to my speech room. They are much more engaging than what I can print out, and they keep the students focused more easily than boom cards or an iPad app can. I would love to use these materials to enhance the speech room experience for my students.
