As a senior high English teacher, I am lucky to have students who are curious, committed, and ready to impact the world in their own special way. The graduation countdown begins the first part of their junior year, or so it seems.
Despite being in a low-income economically depressed area, no matter what the future holds, college, internships, or the workforce, my students are anxious to follow their dreams.
In this time of COVID 19, even though we await the final determination as how and if we return to school this fall, I want my classroom to be as safe as possible. I want to prepare in advance by having the proper supplies to secure their good health and safety.
My Project
As we await the determination as to how we will return to school this year, I want to secure my classroom as best as that I can. I know that the school district will provide materials keep our students safe; however, I am also aware of budget constraints. I am also aware that I will need to purchase tissues, wipes, and cleaners from my own pocket--as I usually do.
Therefore, with the presence of COVID 19 as part of our lives, I want to ensure that my classroom is fully prepared to keep my students safe and healthy when we return to the classroom this fall.
