This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are awesome! We are working on a variety of different goals in Spanish speech therapy. I work with students with autism, Down syndrome, expressive/receptive language delays, articulation and phonological delays, social/pragmatic language delays, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). We work on skills in the students' home language of Spanish. My students are working hard on skills such as remediating speech sound errors, using complete grammatically correct sentences, retelling stories, using their words to ask for help, using language to describe feelings, using a tablet to communicate with a voice-generating app, and much more!

My Project

The materials will help me engage and motivate my students to reach their goals in Spanish speech therapy. We will use a lot of literacy-based intervention, using books to target goals such as vocabulary building, following directions, retelling stories, and expanding their utterances. We will also use the other materials like therapy games to target goals such as speech sound production, taking turns, identifying shapes, counting, and following directions.

I work with students with diverse needs and fresh new materials will help me motivate my students!
