Help me give my students a sofa bed, storage boxes, markers and other supplies for an inclusive, engaging environment that meets their unique learning needs!
I am a Special Education teacher. This upcoming school year I will be transitioning from the Inclusion Support Special Education teacher to a self-contained Language Enriched Autism Program classroom. I will serve students with more profound disabilities in a self-contained environment.
My students have unique sensory needs, and I must be equally creative in how I engage and push them to success.
We will focus on life skills, sensory integration, academics, and occupational needs. I want to create a learning environment that is engaging, fun, exciting and hands-on to address their unique educational needs!
My Project
These materials will go far to create a safe, engaging environment for my students which meets their academic needs as well as their sensory needs. I want to create a place that will push my students to grow while feeling supported and will allow them to be both engaged and safe. The alternative seating will be amazing for students who need to work in nontraditional manners. The art supplies will be used to allow students freedom in their presentation of knowledge. Finally, the storage items will be used to create individualized work stations that will tailor student work to their independent level.
It is my dream that this classroom will be a safe harbor for my students.
I want to meet their unique learning needs as well as their unique personal needs to push them to become exactly who they are meant to be!
