This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Thanks to so many generous donors giving gift cards, I am now able to continue the expansion of my classroom's independent reading library. The books I've had in it were good, but they were inherited from a previous teacher so there weren't any new titles and the options were limited. (Particularly our LGBTQ+ students as well as the manga fans didn't have much to represent their interests.)
Our independent reading library is a source of joy and knowledge for our students, and being able to provide them with new and challenging titles helps to expand their worldview and give them the opportunity to feel seen in what they're reading.
