My Students

I have a fantastic group of inquisitive and active 5th graders. They are curious about the world around them and have a great desire to know more about the topics they are passionate about. They have all suffered from the lack of socialization as part of Covid and this makes their friends extra important to them. I have never had a group so fiercely loyal to their friends!

I am continually amazed by the strength and resilience of the children in my class.

Among my young students there are kids who have lost parents to death, children who have faced years of life saving medical treatments, and individuals who cope each day with chronic illness. These kids have been through so much, but they greet each day with energy and enthusiasm.

We work hard every day in our class. Sometimes the burden of ever-increasing academic pressures make it difficult to feel and remember the joy of teaching and learning, but we sure try our best! I am thankful everyday for the opportunity to teach and be taught by my incredible students!

My Project

I have several students in my classroom that have difficulty staying on task and in their seats. They cause a lot of disruption for the other students and frustration for everyone. I know the students who can't focus are really trying their best but they need the right tools to help them succeed. That is why I am hoping to have a collection of wiggle chairs to help them.

Every child has the right to be able to learn.

My students that need these chairs would benefit, but so would everyone else in the classroom. The world my students live in is chaotic and often frustrating. I want my classroom to be a place where they can experience calm productivity.
