My Project

I work with the most amazing group of students who love learning and who are problem solvers who enjoy engaging in critical thinking activities. As the AIG teacher, I want to challenge my third through fifth grade students to think outside the box and to look for and discover unique ways to solve real world problems.

These books will be the springboards for lessons that integrate critical thinking skills, science, math and engineering with reading as we read both of these books.

As my students read the text, they will engage in activities where they will work cooperatively as they participate in simulations where they plan and work much like the Rats of Nihm.

From working with circuitry and electricity, to creating their own working habitats and farms, watching and plotting weather patterns that will affect crops, writing continuation scripts, revising scenes, and calculating volume for the storage of grains, my students will be thoroughly engaged in a multi-subject learning project that will inspire them in a multitude of ways
