I teach at a Title I elementary school. Many of our students come from low-income homes. Last year, our school district purchased new furniture for our classrooms. This furniture has a whiteboard desktop for student engagement and it allows for flexible seating and grouping. However, our new furniture provides no storage space for student materials.
Students are keeping all of their supplies stacked on their desktops, which gives them little space to work and also leads to students being easily distracted in class.
I would like to help my students organize their materials by using these chair pockets and pencil pouches.
A clean and organized classroom provides students the opportunity to focus on their learning and do their best each day. School is a safe place for many of our students and the classroom environment plays a huge role in their success.
