Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need ample practice with the four domains of English language dominance. These centers are geared for listening, speaking, reading and writing. Their time in high school is limited and drastic measures need to be taken in order to give them the skills they need in a short amount of time.

My students are all newcomers to this country.

They do not have the opportunities to practice the English language at home. They are also the sweetest and brightest group of children that are beyond eager to assimilate and learn the language and culture.

My Project

Everyday, students will practice English using many different technologies. The tablet will be used for interactive games, reading exercises and listening exercises. Students will also listen to books on tape to practice fluency and enhance comprehension skills. All the technology used will foster a deeper and meaningful learning environment while also sustaining interest. All of the materials requested aid in the four learning centers in the classroom. The DVR will help with speaking and listening. The boombox and headphones will also be for the listening center. The tablet will be used for the reading and grammar center. All the materials requested will enhance the academic learning experience and also speed up language acquisition.

These materials guarantee a rapid growth within these children.

They will have hands on tactile materials which will guide and gear their learning processes. I cannot tell you enough how much my classroom is in need of these materials. The students will be far more engaged and excited to learn.
