This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My high school students have speech-language deficits. As a speech-language pathologist, I provide treatment based on the severity of their ability to execute speech sounds, comprehend language, and express language.

We are in unchartered territory as we ask our students to independently manage their learning on e-platforms they've not had an opportunity to practice with.

I am asking for donors to help me purchase gift cards to purchase a test that would allow me to provide incentives to complete unique levels of questioning to gauge each student's response and pinpoint areas of strengths and needs.

Purchasing the gift cards would provide incentives for my students to maintain open communication with me, give them a sense of accomplishment, and maybe even assist their families with a food/item source as needed. I think it would provide a sense of control during a time where we all feel as though we lack control over the most basic aspect of our lives.
