Help me give my students speakers and snacks to create a calm classroom environment in which they can practice their organizational skills through using the requested rolling storage carts, a label maker, and command hooks to hang their coats.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are currently learning how to have better organizational skills and finding their own academic motivation. The items I am requesting for my classroom will help my students to practice organizing their work for class and fostering academic responsibility. The organizational drawers, highlighters and label maker will allow my students to begin to create their own organizational style! We only need the tools in order to help make this a reality.
Students are able to work better in an environment that fosters a sense of belonging and joy.
I am a big believer that students should feel comfortable and secure in the classroom. The speakers, snacks, and command hooks are all a part of creating that community. Command hooks would be used so students can hang up their coats in the classroom, snacks would be provided if they had not eaten that day, and music played during independent work time. I work in several different classrooms, so it is important to me that I am able to transform any space I'm in, to match the community I've created with my students. Most of the children's time is spent in the classroom it should reflect their needs and a welcoming environment.
