Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our second grade classroom, having essential supplies like student dry erase markers, boards and erasers, composition books, carpet spots, glue sticks, pencils, and an electric pencil sharpener will make a meaningful difference in how students engage with their learning. These tools support interactive lessons, hands-on activities, and daily skill practice. For example, dry erase markers and boards allow for quick responses and immediate feedback, helping students stay involved and giving me valuable insight into their understanding. Carpet spots help create a structure, flexible learning environment where students work in small groups or participate in circle time comfortably and effectively.

Equipping students with the right materials help them focus on what matters most learning.

When each child has access to pencils, markers, and glue sticks they can participate fully in writing, math, and creative projects without the disruption of searching for supplies. Composition books encourage writing and reflection, while the electric pencil sharpener keeps everything running smoothly with minimal interruptions. These tools build independence and allow students to take ownership of their work. With the right resources, my students will be able to meet and exceed their academic goals, developing literacy, numeracy, and problem solving skills essential for success

What makes my students truly special is their curiosity, resilience and eagerness to grow. They come to school every day ready to try their best and support one another. They bring diverse strengths, unique personalities, and deep enthusiasm for learning that makes our classroom a joyful place. By providing them with the tools they need, we not only nurture their academic growth but that they are valued and capable.
