Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an energetic group who love technology and having the ability to explore on their own. They feel accomplished when they complete tasks that are difficult for them. There have been a lot of changes made throughout the year in our school, and even with these changes my students have been able to maintain a positive attitude and continue to progress in order to achieve their goals. They come in everyday excited to learn about not only math and science, but to learn about the world around them. We focus on tolerance and accepting one another. My students are able to learn real world situations and take their knowledge that they learn in the classroom into their everyday life experiences.
My Project
Our school has a lack of technological resources. We currently have five laptops in our classroom. While having these laptops are great in theory it makes it hard to be able to use them because they are generally taken from us and distributed to other classes for testing purposes. Much of what students do in life is online. We are in the age of technology therefore our education system should be moving in the same way that the rest of the world is. With these tablets we will be able to use more programs and conduct research projects that will help students get ahead when they reach later grades. I want my students to have these technological experiences so that the lessons are more relative to them, and more fun and interactive overall.
