My Students
Hello! I am a current 3rd grade teacher in Las Vegas, NV and have a great and unique group of kiddos. Their learning needs vary from student to student, and because of spending their 2rd grade year online due to COVID, that learning gap is still very apparent. Any and all resources added to this project go directly to help fit the needs of my students and their learning. From more expo markers so they can solve problems on their whiteboards instead of paper and pencil, to learning tools to help them focus and learn, and any hands-on material so they can see that visualization they oh so need- everything is for the kiddos! The last year and a half was rough for most, if not all the kids, and since being back it has been great for them to be back and learn in the class, but so much work and learning has yet to be done. The kids need these supplies and tools to help them succeed, to help me help them fill in those missing gaps while also continuing their learning. Third grade is a tough year regardless, but anything will and can help!

Explain a person’s right to feel comfortable, safe, and respected.
In my class, my primary goal is for my students to feel safe and respected, and that they have the supplies and tools they need to succeed. After the COVID learning loss and lack of being in the classroom, many are still struggling with being at school for 7 hours. They need to get up and have different activities and tools to use throughout the day. Sitting in their seats isn't going to cut it, especially now. The last normal school year my kids had was in kindergarten! So they need all the supplies and tools they need to help them succeed. In having these materials, not only will they have another resource to help them succeed in understanding our activities and standards, but they will also feel welcomed and respected, because they know that when they come into my class they have the things they need to succeed.
I especially would love those friends who need to get those wiggles out or set out of those boring blue chair every now and then to have comfortable seating alternatives to go to. Everything in this project, even as small as the erasers, go a long way to help my students succeed. When we lack even the smallest of materials, it is in that moment when you realize it actually isn't so small but indeed a very crucial tool for the kiddos to use in their learning. With these materials, our school day will have more ease and structure, filled with more productive learning and fun!
