Help me give my students what is normally "shared supplies" to help with sanitation expectations for the upcoming year. Individual earphones for each group and pencil grips for each student can help tremendously.
My students will be participating in blended learning this year. This is a combination of in the classroom learning and learning from home due to the pandemic. Most of my students haven’t been back to a classroom since March. The transition will be like starting over because of their age and grade.
First grade is already a tough transition year from kindergarten.
When starting in the beginning of the year with a blended learning community versus a regular school year is not only a new experience for the students but many of the teachers as well. Technology is definitely continuing to grow and need to be utilized at a very young age with our current world circumstances. The supplies listed in this project will help my young students become conscious learners at school and provide tools for all students at home.
My Project
These materials will make a difference for at school and home use. Pencil grips will help first graders know where their pencil is and how to sanitize it throughout the day. It will also help the teacher with before and after school cleaning. Pencils are a challenge to keep up with first grade normally. They of course have their own color bags to help with this task, but again first grade is a hard transition year.
The headphones will be used at school and at home.
Each group will stick to the same set of headphones. They can also go home with those students who aren't able to afford a pair of earphones for home learning or even used as a behavior incentive to be able to bring the class earphones home for our virtual classroom.
The paint and individual brushes are to keep our learning colorful. Most class instruction time will be on core subjects, but you would be surprised to see what a little color can do in an ELA or Math lesson. Young learners are engaged with colorful activities and individual brushes can be assigned.
