This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing 5th and 6th graders! They are bright and creative and really enjoy sharing their thoughts and ideas and putting them into action. Many of my students love to read but for some it is a little more difficult. Either way, they work very hard and participate to the best of their ability!
My students have incredibly vibrant minds filled with thoughtful questions and brilliant thoughts.
When we read a new novel or story, I see that creativity expand in ways I never imagined.
My Project
Imagine having to read a book you're struggling to understand. Now imagine having to read it in a stiff, uncomfortable chair surrounded by other uncomfortable people. This is the reality in many classrooms, mine included. Reading can be an extremely difficult subject and most adults I know claim they don't read for pleasure because it was so hard in school. My goal this year is not only to improve my students reading skills but to also instill a love of reading that will take them into adulthood.

My goal with this project is to give students options of seating that will make them the most comfortable so they can focus expanding their minds through books.
