Ms. A's Art Studio

Help me give my students a space in which they can express themselves in their truest artistic form(s). I aim to expose them various media and multiple studio orientations including art horses and drawing boards.

My Students

My students are creatively cultivating their personalities at this time in their lives. As an art teacher, my goal is to provide them with an environment that lends itself to sparking creativity while providing a calming outlet for their daily grind in middle school. By showing my students that it’s ok to think out of the box, make the best of your environment by caring for it, and learning that with the right tools, anything can be accomplished, I hope to help them take their places in this world in a positive way.

My Project

My classroom project will reach approximately 200 students and will ensure that their productivity stays up and they can take pride in taking care of a classroom that provides for them, in return.

My middle schoolers will be able to choose their preferred studio set-up, on an art bench, at a desk, or on a stool with a drawing board, to create in a flexible space that suits the work style of each individual.

They will collaborate and problem-solve as they move through their practice while learning and growing through visual art. As more than 3/4 of my students are from low income households, this is an opportunity not commonly afforded.
