Help me give my students a fun place to read! My students are so excited to be back and they love getting to sit around the room. These cushions and shelves will help them be comfortable and organized!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing 5th graders! They are bright and creative and really enjoy sharing their thoughts and ideas and putting them into action. Many of my students love to read but for some, it is a little more difficult. Either way, they work very hard and participate to the best of their ability!
My students have incredibly vibrant minds filled with deep questions and brilliant thoughts.
When we read a new novel or story, I see that creativity expands in ways I never imagined. I hope to instill a love of learning in them that lasts a lifetime!
My Project
My students are back in the classroom, some for the first time in a year and a half! They are so excited to be here and already seem to love reading! One thing they love doing is getting to sit around the room on the floor. I currently have 4 small seat cushions that everyone wants. I am hoping to have this project fulfilled so they have more options and can be comfortable and relaxed to practice their reading skills.
On top of being comfortable, I want to instill organizational skills in my students.
That is where the shelves come in. We use many materials in class and, unfortunately, have very limited storage space. I would like each one of my tables to have a small bookcase of their own to store their materials so they can maximize desk space.
