This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

First grade as I like to say is the perfect grade! Students are old enough to understand real world concepts and ideas yet young enough to still want their teachers help. All of the students at my school are spectacular, however I like to believe that the students in my class are AMAZING! The students in my class are all students of immigrants or immigrants themselves. They are bilingual learners who teach me a lot more than I believe I teach them! They use their experiences and quest for knowledge to make our classroom the powerhouse that it is. There is never a dull moment nor dull conversation in room 240.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are greatly needed for the engaging lessons plans I have for them. We would appreciate your help in obtaining these supplies. Our class needs a stapler, sharpeners, markers. We also need other supplies that will be used by the students, so that they can actively engage in their independent centers. The organizational cart will be placed in the back of our classroom and will help the Writer's and Math Workshop process run smoothly from day to day. The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of authentic, meaningful reading, writing and math skills. By establishing well equipped centers, my students will begin to see themselves with more confidence in their academic career. We will use these materials to aid us in the process of becoming life-long learners. As the teacher, I have done extensive research on what it takes to lay a solid foundation for academic success in the primary grades. Yet I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thank you!
