My Students

This is my first year as a second grade teacher, and I have been blessed with 23 students who are so eager to learn. They are full of energy and love exploring new topics. These students remind me daily of why I chose to be a teacher. Their curiosity and desire has motivated me to find materials that will help them to progress and continue to love learning.

Watching my students read and truly enjoy a book is such a fulfilling moment as a teacher.

My Project

For my project, I have chosen two classroom novel sets. I chose the A-Z Mystery Novels because of my students' curiosity and eagerness to read and learn. By having a classroom set, each of the students will have their own book to follow along and read from. This gives the students confidence and excitement about having their own book. I feel that a student who loves to read will excel in all subject areas.

One of my favorite quotes is from Mason Cooley who said, "Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are." Many of my students have not had the opportunity to travel outside of our county.

Books give them the unique ability to experience different places without leaving the classroom.
