My Students
I have a great group of students this year. They are all in a Chinese dual immersion program and I am the English partner that teaches them Math, Reading, Writing, and Science. They are very positive, curious, and fun. They love to learn and are pretty competitive with each other. They have been together ever since 1st grade, and they know each other very well, so their competitiveness is friendly.
They like anything that has to do with Math and Science, and they love writing stories.
They are beginning to really write a lot of argument and informative papers, but they mostly love writing stories. Especially science fiction stories! I want to be able to encourage them any way that I can, to develop and maintain a love of writing.
My Project
A HP Laserjet Pro printer would be wonderful to have in my classroom. The students would be able to print off their essays and projects. They could write their stories and print them off and make them into books. Because it is a laser printer, many pages can get printed off at minimal cost. 6th grade is when students write a lot of argument essays, informative essays and stories. If they have easy access to printing them off, they can print them in real time and be able to finalize their projects quicker. It would just be a nice thing to have in my room.
