My Students

My students are fourth graders who have a variety of academic strengths and weaknesses. They also come from diverse backgrounds and have had many 'life' experiences that have shaped their personalities. A large number of students in my class are English Language Learners. Many are also in the Early Intervention Program for math and reading.

The students have various learning styles and enjoy mostly hands-on activities.

My students looped with me from third to fourth grade so I know them very well and believe they will benefit from this technology.

My Project

These three Osmo games and activities will allow my students to work cooperatively and practice teamwork, while enhancing their problem solving skills. There are a variety of hands-on games and academic based activities that the students will work on while practicing their math skills. Osmo will also allow them to apply what they have learned in their technology class. They are all interested in coding and a coding game is included in the kit. Math skills can be practiced using the pizza parlor activity as well as the tangrams. We have tried these out at our school and the students really enjoy them!
